Kindlehill Alum Guinevere Isla and the lovely Sarah Humphreys Sings at our fundraising concert for the Kids Help Cafes Kick Plastic campaign late last year.
Our Class 11-12 is working on an exciting suite of projects in 2025!
KIDS HELP CAFÉS KICK PLASTIC – Our term 4 fundraising push got us over the line (thank you, all!!), and we have the funds we need to go ahead with the next stage of the project. We are now applying for the NSW EPA Bin Trim rebate, which will subsidise up to 50% of the cost of the machines. And then it’s time for Six Simple Machines to manufacture and install the Juggler systems in our participating cafés.
THEATRE PRODUCTION in PARTNERSHIP WITH BMCC – This project expands our event production expertise into theatre. Year 7’s 2024 production of Reasons to Stay Inside is ready for a broader audience, and we are in discussions with BMCC about partnering on a production for schools at the newly renovated Wentworth Falls School of Arts. The play explores friendship, resilience, and social anxiety, and will be followed by a facilitated discussion to deepen engagement with these important and relevant themes.
SEEN in PARTNERSHIP with GALLERYONE88 – Building on the success of our 2024 initiative, we are broadening the reach of this project, inviting high schools from across the mountains to participate in this impactful and positive event. We will offer a free photography workshop with a professional photographer in term 3 and present the exhibition in term 4.
Across these projects, students are managing relationships with community partners, project budgets, marketing, and communication with stakeholders. This is challenging, satisfying and meaningful work that grounds their learning in the real world. We look forward at seeing you at our 2025 events as we tackle problems that matter in our community.
