There is a little bit of magic in adornment. We adorn ourselves with messages of protection, love, power, wisdom, rebellion, beauty…symbols of self, and symbols of connection.
Our first Senior School eco-creatives project took inspiration from place and incorporated symbolism and messaging.
We chose to work with Alison Daniel, a local jewellery artist. With her we learnt wax carving and sand casting, a process of carving, moulding, melting and MAGIC!
The taking of ideas and inspiration and giving them form, the anticipation as the metal was heated and pour, the delight at revealing each piece of work from within the mould, all of it spoke to a process of transformation and becoming. The gift of alchemy!
